Students Activities / Initiatives

The School of Electronics & Communication Engineering at MIT-WPU encourages self learning through student’s activities, forums, and clubs. There are several events which are organized by students on regular basis. Our students regularly participate in different national and international level events and competitions:

TEXEPHYR, Tesla, Techogenesis:

These are the national level, annual technical events organized by the students in our campus every year. Thousands of students from different colleges, Institutes and Universities across India participate in these events to showcase their talents.


Every year, our students are the important stakeholders of MIT Robocon team, contribute a lot in electronics design, programming, communication and control. During Year 2017, our final year students, Anish Kshirsagar and Umang Joshi led Robocon Team of MIT and secured first runners-up position, bagged Mr. Mukesh Sharma – Silver Medal with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, an award for Best Aesthetic Robot, and Mathworks Special Award for Matlab Application


MIT-WPU – ECE Recreational Cultural Group (MERC) promotes the cultural activities at school level, providing opportunities to most of the students to participate. Every year, a grand program is organized by students to showcase their skills.


MIT-WPU – ECE Association for Study Skills (MASS) fosters creativity of among the students of the school by conducting the aptitude tests, drawing, painting and rangoli competitions, and other such events.


MIT-WPU – ECE Association for Recreational Sports (MARS) engages the students in sports activities at the school level. Matches for different sports/games are organized on routine basis to nurture the team spirit and vibrancy among the students.

IEEE Student Branch:

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) being one of the largest technical professional societies in the world with more than 423 thousand members, including more than 117 thousand student members. IEEE is instrumental for advancement of technology and for benefits to the humanity. It has 39 societies and 7 technical councils representing wide range of interests in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Computer and others. IEEE has developed more than 1300 standards and it publishes more than 200 transactions, journals and magazines. IEEE also organizes and sponsors conferences in the areas of focus. We have a vibrant IEEE Student Branch namely, MIT – IEEE Student Branch (MISB) which organizes various activities like seminars, workshops, competitions and related activities for the students.

IETE Forum:

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of science, electronics, telecommunication and Information Technology. It serves more than 125 thousand members through various centres. We have established IETE Forum to promote technical creativity in the students.
